Premier Division returns For 2024

Saturday 10 February marks the return of the EHL Premier Divisions which will include a number of athletes that were part of the GB men's and women's teams that qualified for Paris 2024.

Heading into the second stage of the league, the twelve teams now play as the Top Six and Lower Six (decided by standings after the opening 11 matches) playing each other team in their section once over the next five weeks. Points carry over from the pre-Christmas games. 

In the Top Six a European place for the leaders and a favourable draw for the final stages are up for grabs. In the Lower Six the two best placed teams can still make the finals and with it avoid the relegation play-offs 

In the Women’s league Bowdon, East Grinstead, Hampstead & Westminster, Reading, Surbiton and University of Nottingham will face each other in the Top Six whilst Beeston, Clifton Robinsons, Isca & University of Exeter, Loughborough Students, Wimbledon and University of Birmingham battle in the Lower Six. 

In the Men’s, Hampstead & Westminster, Holcombe, Old Georgians, Southgate, Surbiton and Wimbledonwill play each other in the top six whilst Oxted, University of Nottingham, Beeston, Reading, Cardiff & Met and East Grinstead compete in the lower six. 


The finals see teams in two seeded pools of four play a further three rounds of games with the top two in each qualifying for Finals weekend, to be hosted at Surbiton Hockey Club on 13-14 April. 

In the Women’s Top Six Surbiton, who take a five point lead into the restart, make the short trip to Hampstead & Westminster. Men’s Premier Division leaders Old Georgians play host to Holcombe in third who trial them by three points.
