Charity Walk for Luke Hobson Anniversary
Luke Hobson
The second anniversary of Luke Hobson’s passing is coming up on 28 March and we wanted to publicise this charity event being organised by his club Blueharts HC, to both remember Luke and raise vital funds for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
There are more details below for anyone in our wider Hockey family who would like to make a donation.
Walk for Luke
On Sunday 28 March, members and friends of Blueharts Hockey Club will be taking part in a charity event to remember junior member, Luke Hobson.
Luke lost his life on 28 March 2018, following a tragic accident at a hockey training session.
On the 2 year anniversary of his death, Blueharts will be walking or running 2 miles (or more) to raise money for the East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA), who played such an important role in getting Luke to hospital on the night of the accident.
As well as raising valuable funds for EAAA, the event will be an opportunity for members to take time to remember Luke and reflect, whilst being together in spirit.
We are encouraging members of all ages and their families to get involved - wearing Blueharts kit and sharing photographs on the way.
Please remember to adhere to social distancing rules, only exercising with your family/bubble or as pairs from different households. Hopefully you will see other Blueharts taking part on your walk – please remember not to congregate in groups.
To donate:
- Text 'LUKE' to 70085 to donate £5 (this costs £5 plus a standard rate message)
- Visit the Justgiving page - we are encouraging members to donate their equivalent match fee (or more)
