Notts Sports Boys Schools Championships U14 T1 Finals

It was another glorious day at Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre as the Notts Sport Boys Schools U14 Tier 1 Finals took place. Eight teams in two pools battled it out to be crowned champion.

St Georges College Alec Clayton-Jones and Whitgift Freddy Pettifer were joint top goalscorers, Whitgift took home the cup.

The day saw a total of 54 goals scored in 16 matches, 14 of which were penalty corners and 2 were penalty strokes.

The final between Kings School Chester and Whitgift was an intense battle leaving the first half goalless. The first goal came from Fred Cotgrove in the 26th minute for Whitgift. Freddy Pettifer sealed the deal for Whitgift giving them a 2-0 win.

The 3rd/4th playoff saw an early goal from St George's College’s Oli Elliot leading them to a 1-0 victory over The Perse School and leading them to the Bronze.

Repton School and Wellington College had an end to end match in the 5th/6th playoff ending 2-2 and going to a shoot-out. Repton School managed to take the win scoring 4 whilst Wellington College scored 1.

Taunton School opened the score sheet during the first half in the 7th/8th play-off with Yarm School equalising late into the second. Taunton reacted quickly and snuck another two past the goalie making the final score 3-1 Taunton.
