Notts Sport Schools Championships U18 Tier 1 Finals
Two days of action at Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre for the Notts Sport Schools Championships 2023 see teams battle it out to be crowned champions.

Finals
St George's College 1 - 4 WhitgiftSt George's College weren't hanging around and hit Whitgift hard and fast, it was Will Owens who managed to score first giving St George's College an early lead, but, Jonathan Sturch-Hibbitt was quick to respond with a penalty corner goal.
After an intense 14 minutes, Will Gravestock extended Whitgift's lead into the second half. Green cards for both sides early in the second left gaps in both teams but Wilf Snashall took advantage and extended the lead further. Will Gravestock scored the fourth for Whitgift and secured the win for his team.
3rd/4th Play off
Peter Symonds College 3-7 Repton SchoolIn the Boys U18 Tier 1 3rd/4th play-off George Fletcher was hot off the mark with a goal in the first minute for Repton. Peter Symonds College held Repton off for 20 minutes before Henry Geutjens extended Repton's lead with Taheem Javaid and George Fletcher taking Repton to a 4-0 lead until Captain Max Wedderburn got back-to-back goals, with the first half ending 4-2 to Repton.
George Fletcher found the back of the net for the third time, completing his hat-trick, whilst Sam Cossey and Taheem Javaid made sure Peter Symonds College couldn't catch them even though Connor Blackmore tried in the last minutes ending the match Peter Symonds College 3, Repton School 7.

Final
Repton School 5 - 1 Framlingham CollegeRepton’s Amelia Pollock didn't need long to convert an opportunity and put one past Framlingham’s goalkeeper Sophie Bowden. Framlingham pressed Repton hard and had opportunities but Evie Grindal extended Repton’s lead in the 23rd minute.
A turnover in the middle of the pitch and some simple skills at the top of the circle from Evie Grindal extended Repton’s lead to 3-0. As the rain drew in, the match continued to be an end to end affair and after 10 minutes of hard work a solid slap shot from the top of the circle by Francesca Ralston-Brown brought Framlingham College closer to catching Repton.
With just 2 minutes left on the clock, Evie Grindal took Repton back to 3 goals up and Miranda Jackson sealed the deal with a reverse hit from the top of the circle making the final score Repton 5, Framlingham College 1.
3rd/4th Play off
Epsom College 2 - 3 Dean Close SchoolIt was an evenly matched first half for Epsom College and Dean Close School in the Girls U18 Tier 1 3rd/4th play-off as both teams battled it out, end to end until Caitlin Thompson managed to score for Dean Close School in the 34th minute, closely followed by Emma Howitt taking Dean Close School into half time 2-0 up.
The second half was an even battle until Lorna Willmott was awarded a penalty stroke and converted just before Captain Jess Dyson scored one of her own, bringing Epsom back into the match. Ella Stephens was next to score but it wasn't enough for Epsom and the final score was Epsom 2, Dean Close School 3.

After a wet morning, the Boys' Schools competition started with St George's College v Peter Symonds College.
St George's College's Dylan Parry was the first to score and Will Owens secured the win for them with a late goal in the second taking St George's College to the final and Peter Symonds College into the 3rd/4th play off.
Repton School faced Whigift in their semi-finals but were left goalless after Jake Bennett, Jonathan Sturch-Hibbitt and Morten Andersen all scored meaning Repton will face St George's College tomorrow.
In the girl's school competition, Repton School faced Epsom in the first round of semi-finals where Reton scored a whopping 7 past Epson leading them to face Framlingham College in the final who beat Dean close in a 2-1 intense battle.
