Flyerz Week 2021
This week we are celebrating all that is great about Flyerz Hockey, from the players and their families to the clubs, coaches and volunteers.
Throughout this week you’ll have opportunities to #AskKateAndHelen, a live Q&A with Kate and Helen Richardson-Walsh, find out about the incredible individuals who play and provide sessions for people with disabilities and join us for Flyerz Festival South where we will be sharing live content.
The week will also have great content from Flyerz Day North as well as incredible things from the official Flyerz Hockey social media.
To kick it all of, here is an intro into Flyerz.
Flyerz Hockey is fun and friendly, inclusive of all abilities and ages and is the name widely associated with grassroots disability inclusive hockey in England. The sessions and equipment are adapted to ensure inclusivity of any disability and long-term health condition. Welcoming and enabling disabled and non-disabled players and their families to pick up a stick and play together.
The number of disabled people who take part in sport has grown significantly and England Hockey are committed to providing hockey playing opportunities with an emphasis on inclusion and participation.
We work in collaboration with Access Sport to grow the number of clubs offering Flyerz Hockey to increase access, and opportunity for disabled people to join the hockey family.
Access Sport is a charity meeting the urgent need to improve children and young people’s health and wellbeing, working solely with young people in deprived communities and with a strong emphasis on young disabled people.

Flyerz Hockey is continually growing with more and more clubs offering this format of the game. You can find your nearest Flyerz Hockey session using Access Sports Find a Session search.
We recommend speaking to the club ahead of your first session as they can answer any questions you have, along with hearing a bit more about you so they can provide you with the best hockey experience.
More info can also be found in the Play section of our website. -
