English Athletes Selected For 2022 GB Women's EDP Squad

England Hockey would like to congratulate its athletes who have been named in the GB Women's Elite Development Programme (EDP) for 2022.

A total of 24 players have been selected, including many of those named in the England U21 squad for the postponed Junior Women's World Cup back in December.

The squad also includes a number of English athletes who have represented the country at U16 and U18 level.

First formed in 2017, the GB EDP was designed to help those identified as having the potential to perform on the world's best level an environment in which they could develop the skills, physicality and character required to become a medal-winning Olympian.

Already a number of players have transitioned from the programme into the senior squads, with Izzy Petter and Fiona Crackles going on to win bronze at the Tokyo Olympics while the seven English players recently called up to the senior GB women's squad have all spent some time in the EDP.
