EHO National Umpiring Conference

England Hockey Officiating is delighted to announce its first national umpiring conference. The event will take place at Jubilee Hotel & Conferences, Nottingham on Sunday 8th September 2024, from 9:30am to 4:30pm.

The event will run in parallel with the annual NPUA Conference, and will feature insights from some of the country’s best umpires and umpire coaches to help develop your officiating.

Keynote Speakers

We are thrilled that England’s very own Dan Barstow, Hannah Harrison and Margaret Hunnaball will be joining us to share their experiences and learnings from this summer’s Olympic Games in Paris. Dan and Hannah have both umpired at World Cups and will be officiating at their first Olympics, while Margaret is one of the most respected Umpire Managers in the game. The trio will pass on their expertise and experience as three of the world’s best.

In addition, we’ll hear from Premier League football referee David Coote. David is one of the Premier League’s Select Group referees and is also a FIFA listed referee and VAR. As well as refereeing at the highest level each week, David will be in action as VAR at this summer’s Euro 2024 Championships as well as the Olympic Games.

Who is the conference aimed at?

The national umpiring conference is aimed at umpires and umpire developers of all levels, regardless of experience. Whether you are a club umpire taking the first steps on your umpiring journey, or an experienced official taking neutral appointments, the conference will offer insights to develop your game. We are particularly keen to welcome those of you that umpire within your club and have an active interest in umpiring.

As well as presentations from our keynote speakers, the programme will include a variety of interactive sessions and video clips from all levels to ensure that everyone will take something away that will improve their performance. The only thing we ask is that you come open minded with a willingness to learn!

The cost & how to book

The cost of attending the event is £85, discounted to £80 for Gold members of England Hockey Officiating. This includes attendance at all conference sessions, a hot buffet lunch and refreshments throughout the day. Free parking is available at the venue and there are good links by public transport.
