Championship Finals Run Alongside FIH Pro League At Lee Valley Hockey And Tennis Centre
The finals of England Hockey’s Tiered championships will be played alongside FIH Pro League games at Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre on the weekends 21-22 May and 28-29 May showcasing domestic and international games together giving club players from all levels the chance to play alongside the England teams.
The tiered championships are knockout competitions for adult teams and run at four different levels, Tier 1 the highest, for EHL teams, to grassroots teams at Tier 4. The Tiers are based on where teams play within the overall league pyramid to endeavour to give balanced competitions.
The Women’s finals take centre stage on 21-22 May when England men play France and England women play China.
In the Tier 1 final, Vitality Women’s Premier Division teams Buckingham and Beeston, current champions, will battle it out for the title. They meet at 18:00 on Saturday 21 May with the Tier 4 final between Knole Park 2nd XI from the South East and Golborne from the North West is to be played earlier in the day at 10:00.
On Sunday 22 May, The Army take on Nottingham Trent University in the Tier 3 final at 09:00 and the last game of the day at 16:30 sees the Tier 2 final between Repton and Liverpool Sefton.
The following weekend sees the Men’s finals along with England men’s games against South Africa and the women’s against Spain. On Saturday 28 May Penzance from the West take on Nottingham University 5s in the Tier 4 final at 09:00. Following the Pro League games that day the Tier 1 final will feature Men's EHL champions Old Georgians against the winners of this Sunday’s semi-final between Oxted and Beeston.
Sunday 29 May starts at 09:00 with the Tier 3 final between Repton and Nottingham Trent University. The last game of the day is the Tier 2 final at 16:30 with Banbury taking on the winners of the East Grinstead 2s vs Jersey semi to be played on 21 May.
