Junior Hockey Coach

We are seeking dynamic and enthusiastic coaches to join our successful junior programme. This is a fantastic opportunity for those who is passionate about hockey and coaching, and are looking to develop their skills and experience working with junior players.

We also have an active and thorough community coaching programme coaching local schools having delivered to almost 30000 children, many of which have joined local clubs. 

Hours can be varied to suit the needs of our coaches however junior team coaches are required to work on Sundays.

Further opportunities such as 1-2-1/small group coaching, holiday camps as well as coach development programme also on offer once employment commences.

Responsibilities:

o    Develop and deliver coaching sessions for junior players of all abilities, ages and genders.

o    Work closely with the Director of Junior Hockey to develop and implement the junior program.

o    Assess and monitor player performance, providing feedback and guidance to support player development.

o    Support and attend matches and tournaments.

o    Assist with the recruitment and retention of junior players.

o    Coach in the local community

o    Assist Director of Junior Hockey in relatable tasks

o    Maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for players.

Requirements:

o    Experience coaching junior players.

o    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

o    Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

o    Passion for hockey and developing young players.

o    A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

This is a part-time role with the possibility of extra hours with hours to be agreed with the successful candidate. The role will require weekend and evening work. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
