Mens 1XI and Womens 1XI Coaches

2 Vacancies - Mens 1XI and Womens 1XI Coaches.

Milton Keynes is a well established hockey club based at Woughton on the Green.

Currently competing in the South Central Leagues, we have 4 womens teams (North Division 1 - Division 3 Cherwell) and 4 mens teams (Premier Division 2 - Division 3 Cherwell) as well as a Junior section (U8s - U16s) feeding our senior teams.

We are looking for experienced coaches for our Mens 1XI and Womens 1XI (2 separate vacancies) who can help the teams become more established in their leagues as well as drive development through the lower teams and draw new players to the club. 

We would want the coaches to travel with the teams on Saturdays to manage and adapt the gameplay. 

We are a welcoming and sociable hockey club, and we are looking for enthusiastic coaches who can help us strengthen our higher teams and develop & nurture our lower teams and juniors.

Summary of our current training set up for the 1XIs:

- Training twice per week on Tuesdays & Thursdays, one short session and one longer session.
 -The 1XI and 2XI train together.
- Club Training (3&4XI) is also on Tuesdays before the 1&2XI.

As a 1XI coach, we would be asking for commitment to the below responsibilities, working alongside club leadership:

- Plan and implement a pre-season training programme which would include fitness, training sessions and friendlies.
- Plan and run engaging and appropriately challenging training sessions with the aim to develop and strengthen the squads. 
- Lead selection, with both team performance and individual development in mind.
- Ensure development throughout the club and to attract new players.
- Monitor performance, commitment and provide feedback on a team and individual level.
- Travel with the teams on Saturdays to manage gameplay and adapt tactics to achieve results.

Preferably, we would be looking to have these roles cover the Club Training as well with some help from aspiring coaches from within the club, but would consider 1XI only applications. 

Candidates would preferably have a Level 2 UK coaching qualification, or would be keen to work towards it, and be eligible to work in the UK. We would also be looking for experience as either coach or player at a high level.

Pay to be discussed upon enquiry and would be dependent on qualifications & experience - any successful candidate would be subject to a DBS check.
