Head Coach for Ladies 1st XI

About Us: Leighton Buzzard Hockey Club is a vibrant and inclusive club dedicated to promoting the sport of hockey in the local community. We are committed to developing players of all ages and skill levels, fostering a love for the game, and achieving excellence on and off the field.

Our Ladies 1st XI were promoted to South Central Women's Premier Division 2 for the 2024/25 season, where they are striving to consolidate their position in the league with a clear focus on maintaining this standard of hockey while planning for future development.

Job Description: We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Coach to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the sport, a strong understanding of coaching at this level if not higher, as well as the ability to inspire and motivate players.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, organise, and conduct an effective training program for the performance squad.
• Attend all 1st XI matches.
• Develop and implement game strategies and tactics.
• Provide constructive feedback and support to players to enhance their skills and performance.
• Foster a positive and inclusive team environment.
• Monitor and evaluate player progress and development.
• Collaborate with other coaches to ensure a cohesive club coaching approach.

Qualifications:

• Previous coaching experience at a similar level.
• Relevant coaching certifications (e.g., Level 2 or equivalent, safeguarding, first aid, etc).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with players of all ages and varying abilities.
• Commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive team culture.
