Head of Performance Hockey

Role Overview

Epsom Hockey Club is looking to recruit an experienced, proactive hockey coach to lead our performance section. The role will mainly oversee the development of our 11 aside section overseeing our U14-U18 boys and girls age groups. Working closely with our Director of Junior Hockey on our performance programme and working closely with the wider coaching team to deliver the targets, aims and values of Epsom Hockey Club. 

Roles and responsibilities

1. Oversee the development of our U14-U18 boys and girls age groups (leagues/competitions, selection, strategy).

2. Lead our performance section, run sessions, trials, player development plans and off pitch sessions.

3. Create the performance: environment, culture and qualities of the player/group and session plans. 

4. Oversee the transition of junior players into the adult section and individually manage our performance players. 

Additional Opportunities

1. Coaching in our outreach programme in local schools. 

2. Coaching in our indoor programme. 

3. Coaching in our adult section ladies or men’s sides. 

Experience

1. England Hockey Level 2 or equivalent coaching qualification.

2. Hold current First Aid, DBS, Insurance and Safeguarding Children Workshop certificates.

3. Likely to have experience in running a performance section or sessions or seeking this as a next career step.

4. A proven track record of success in coaching hockey.

Remuneration

A competitive rate, dependent on qualifications.
