Berkshire Hockey Association (BHA) runs an active DC and AC program for the county. We typically have 500 youngsters involved each year as well as a thriving schools program.
The successful candidate will lead one of our junior cohorts. The role will also include helping to develop our Assistant Coaches. This is a great opportunity for those who are passionate about hockey and coaching and are looking to expand their role particularly working with junior players.
The Role:
- Working closely with the Director of Coaching to develop and deliver the coaching programs for junior players of all abilities and age ranges.
- Assessing and monitoring player performance, providing feedback and guidance to support player development.
- Supporting and attending matches and tournaments.
- Assisting with the recruitment and retention of junior players.
- Maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for players.
- Assisting the Director of Coaching as may be required
- Providing input and ideas to help ensure that Berkshire Hockey provides the best possible support for hockey in the county.
You will bring:
- Experience of coaching junior players with a range of abilities.
- Relevant Qualifications (England Hockey Level 1, 2…)
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for hockey and developing and enthusing young players.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A good understanding of safeguarding requirements.

This is a part-time, self-employed role with the possibility of extra hours (to be agreed with you). The role will require weekend and evening work.
