Assistant and Lead Coaches
Old Kingstonian HC SW LondonThe Old Kingstonian HC is based in Kingston upon Thames and Thames Ditton (SW London). Our commitment is to develop and nurture junior players, ensure they have fun playing hockey, and inspire a lifelong love of the game, while making friends on and off the pitch. We are a family orientated, inclusive club and expect our coaches to fully support this ethos.
We are looking for motivated and inspirational coaches to lead assist the training for some of our junior teams on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings.
Job description:
- Assistant Coaches: Support in the running of the sessions, ensuring a high level of detail is executed at all times
- Lead Coaches: The coach will be expected to plan and deliver training sessions for our junior teams and will be supported by parent and junior helpers.
- Preferably the coach will be able to support the teams on their away fixtures, as we feel this is crucial to support our players in their development.
- Work closely with the coaching team, the head coach, junior coordinator and team managers
- Provide constructive feedback to players during sessions.
Requirements:
- Lead coach: Coaching qualification Level 2 (Sessional Coach) or equivalent, Assistant coach: Level 1 or equivalent (or working towards)
- Valid Safeguarding and First Aid certificate
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Valid England Hockey DBS certificate
- Have a good technical understanding of skill development
- Be proactive and organised
- Be able work as part of a team
- Have a positive mindset
- Have a desire to learn and grow as a coach
Further coaching opportunities may include coaching at club hockey camps during school holidays, as well as supporting the weekday training for our senior teams.
This is a paid role, which the club are happy to discuss rates for, depending on experience offered.
