What is the purpose of the England Hockey Personal Accident Cover?
England Hockey requires clubs, as part of their annual membership, to provide evidence of a minimum level of Personal Accident insurance for their members. This is due to the fact that historically, many clubs did not provide this cover, and players had no (financial) support to help them with medium to long term impacts of injuries sustained playing hockey.
England Hockey has worked with its insurance brokers (Marsh Sport) to develop a schedule of cover which looks to ensure that anyone playing the sport is entitled to financial help to assist with any medium to long term, or even lifelong, impacts to their health or livelihood due to accidents which happen in the game.
