Is the Sessional Coach course the same as old Level 2 Coaching in Hockey?

The Sessional Course and the Coach Course are both suitable for people leading independent sessions.

• Sessional Course: This is suitable for coaches who are leading independent sessions to a group of players.
• Coach Course: This is suitable for coaches who are leading up a section at a club and are responsible for the development of other coaches. It includes extra learning related to linked session design and supporting other people involved in the delivery of your sessions.

The difference is that the content and structure has been updated to reflect the new GB Coaching Philosophy, and is now more flexible and accessible to attend with more practically applied content, and online portfolio tasks that you can complete at a time that suits you.

If you hold an old Level 2 Qualification we would recommend you access one of these new courses or our online workshops to keep your learning current. Even though you have already attended the Level 2 Course before, with different content, coach developers and different attendees, we have no doubt you will still find this a useful experience, and take away new ideas and information to apply to your coaching.
