If I’m not a member of the EHO, am I covered by Insurance?
Regardless of whether an official undertakes matches for their club or an Area Officiating committee, the responsibility falls onto the appointing body to ensure that the Official has the support required and is competent for that match.
In terms of insurance, if Officials are undertaking officiating activities for their club then their club insurance covers their activities in most cases. If someone is undertaking officiating opportunities for an organisation that they are NOT a member of, then the Official is advised to supply their own Public Liability insurance.
England Hockey have been working hard with its insurance partner, Marsh Sport (BlueFin Sport), to ensure that a provision for insurance will be made available to all members of EHO through the subscription options and more details of this will follow.
