As you will be aware the Adult League fixtures have been published for the new season and are now available on the GMS system, which your Club Administrator on the system will have access to. Once player registration is open on GMS, you will be able to access them there under your own account.
Please note there have been a number of changes since fixtures were originally posted at fixtures.englandhockey.co.uk so please use the GMS version as these are the most up to date.
These Adult Leagues will be administered using the new Game Management System (GMS). We are now able to provide more information on the initial functionality of this new system and what it means for your role in hockey.
The initial launch of GMS will focus on ensuring the basic requirements are all in place. We will be rolling out more functionality and improvements in the planned for development phases, over the coming months. The GMS is focused on streamlining competition administration for clubs and administrators. GMS will not replace the club management systems that clubs use.
The GMS is now live and your local competition organisers are familiarising themselves with the new system. From the middle of August training opportunities will be available for competition administrators, closely followed by training and tutorials for club administrators, team administrators and players. It is critical that all clubs and competition organisers attend this training as all will be required to use the GMS in the forthcoming season.
The following roles should sign up for training on how to use the new system:
- Competition Administrator – people who run junior, adult or masters’ competitions such as leagues, cups or local festivals – usually Area or County (Sub Area) representatives.
- Club Administrator – key club committee members such as Club Administrator, Fixtures Secretary, or Membership Secretary
- Team Administrator - Team Captains and/or Managers
What will GMS do and what does it mean for me?
-
What do I have to do?
- Participant Profile – All players have to be registered (so you can appear on match sheets) so you must set up an individual account. This is a quick process and you only need to do it once.
- Your profile will capture your playing and umpiring history, your details and consents. This will stay with you if you move clubs.
- You’ll have to link yourself to hockey clubs that you currently play for. This is because many players might play for more than one club or team (e.g. summer league etc).
- Player Transfer – You’ll be able to initiate a transfer during the season to play for another club in a competition if regulations permit.
When do I have to do it?
- Look out for the link to sign up coming shortly.
What's coming in future phases:
- Your playing history – This captures appearance in clubs and teams, goals scored, cards (providing this is captured on match sheet)
- GPS Tracking Map - Add your smartwatch or fitbit tracker to your match history
- Videos - Add video clips of goals scored or team photos
What do I need to do next?
Please look out for training videos over the next couple of weeks.
-
What do I have to do?
- Every fixture will have a match sheet on GMS. The match sheet will record the score, players and key events in the match such as scorers, cards and injuries.
- Match sheets are expected to be populated before a match takes place with the match results submitted after the game.
How does it work?
- You will get access to these Admin rights on GMS which are assigned by the Club Admin which provides all the information about your team and the matches they will play.
- To make things easy, you will add registered team members to match sheets using drop down boxes.
- To save time, you can copy the previous week’s team sheet to use as a template and amend.
- Information like shirt numbers will auto populates from player profile but can also be overwritten if shirt numbers are different (not all levels will require this).
- Paid match fees - Use tick boxes to mark off players who have paid match fees.
- After the game both team admins enter the full time score, goal scorers and cards which will update the league website and players playing history.
