Trains and Underground
We strongly recommend using the London Underground or Train services to Stratford Station or Stratford International Station.
Stratford Station
- Underground - Elizabeth Line, Jubilee Line, Central Line and Docklands Light Railway (DLR)
- National Rail - Abellio Greater Anglia for services to Liverpool Street/Essex/East Anglia and London Overground Services.
Stratford International Station
- Underground - Docklands Light Railway (DLR)
- National Rail - Southern Eastern High-Speed services to and from St Pancreas International
Buses
The following bus routes connect Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre with Stratford and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park:
- The 308, W15, N26 buses stop outside Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre
- The 97, 339, 388 and N205 buses all run through Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park
Walking
Below is the walking route from Stratford and Stratford International Station to Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre. Our friendly Hockey Makers will be stationed along the route to help you get to the venue quickly and safely and be on hand to answer any questions.
Parking
On competition and event days there is NO SPECTATOR PARKING. If you plan on travelling by car then we recommend parking at Stratford International or Westfield, then walking or getting a taxi to the venue.

Derby Arena is located on Pride Park, just outside Derby city centre.
Arriving by car
Derby Arena is signposted on all major routes. If using SAT NAV, please use DE24 8JB or type in 'Derby Arena' into your navigation system.
Spectators can purchase car parking for the event from parking stewards on the day at the venue for £5. There is over 1,000 spaces at Derby Arena available for the event. Queues are expected at the start of the event so please factor this into your journey time.
Please do NOT use the MiPermit website to purchase parking for this event, England Hockey or Derby Arena will not be able to refund any purchases made through this.
For blue badge parking, please email transport@englandhockey.co.uk no later than 5 days prior to the event to reserve a space.
From the North (M1)
- Exit the M1 at Junction 28 and follow the A38 South towards Derby
- Remain on the A38 until the roundabout with the A61 (Signposted Derby A61). Take the exit towards A61.
- Remain on A61 until the Pentagon Island roundabout where the signposts will direct you onto the A52 towards Nottingham and Spondon.
- Take the first exit from the A52 (signposted for the Wyvern Centre) and follow the slip road until you reach a roundabout.
- At the roundabout take the second exit (turn right) along Wyvern Way.
- Follow Wyvern Way until you reach the next roundabout and take a left onto Derwent Parade.
- Continue straight until you reach Derby Arena.
From the South (M1)
- Exit the M1 at Junction 25 and follow the A52 West towards Derby.
- Stay on A52 for 5 and half miles until you reach the junction for Pride Park.
- Follow the exit slip road to Wyvern Way roundabout and once there go straight on (2nd exit) to join Derwent Parade.
- Continue straight and Derby Arena will be on your left hand side.
Directions from the South (A38)
- Coming up north on A38, drive along A38 until you reach Markeaton roundabout. Take the 3rd exit onto Ashbourne Road (A52).
- Turn left onto Bridge Street (A52).
- Turn right onto Agard Street (A52).
- Slight left to stay on Agard Street (A52).
- Slight left onto Ford Street (A601) and continue to follow A601.
- Take the ramp towards Chsterfield/A61/M1/Nottingham/A52/Mansfield.
- Keep right at the fork and merge onto Eastgate. Continue straight on A52.
- Take the first exit from the A52 (signposted for the Wyvern Centre) and follow the slip road until you reach a roundabout.
- At the roundabout take the second exit (turn right) along Wyvern Way.
- Follow Wyvern Way until you reach the next roundabout and take a left onto Dervent Parade.
- Continue straight until you reach Derby Arena.
Directions from the West (A50)
- Exit the A50 at Junction 2 (signposted as A6 for Derby) and head north along the A6.
- Take the second exit (go straight) at the first roundabout and carry on straight along A6 (Raynesway).
- After you have reached Derby and driven past Rolls Royce you will need to take an exit/slip road A52 towards Derby.
- Stay left and take the first exit from the A52 (signposted for the Wyvern Centre) and follow the slip road until you reach a roundabout.
- At the roundabout take the second exit (turn right) along Wyvern Way.
- Follow Wyvern Way until you reach the next roundabout and take a left onto Dervent Parade.
- Continue straight until you reach Derby Arena.

Arriving by foot
The Arena is a 30 minute walk from Derby City Centre and 15 minutes walk from the train station.
Arriving by bike
Derby Arena is easily accessible for the National Cycle Network. The riverside pathway, National Cycle Route 6, provides a traffic free way of getting you close to the Arena from the city centre as well as from the south of the city. Arriving by bus
Derby Arena can be reached via several bus routes from around the city. Derby Bus Station is 30 minutes walk away. Contact Traveline on 0871 200 22 33 for more information on bus services within Derby.
Arriving by train
Derby Arena is located a short 15 minute walk from Derby train station or via a 2 minute taxi journey. Direct rail services connect Derby with London St Pancras (from 93 minutes), Birmingham, Bournemouth, Bristol, Cardiff, Dundee, Edinburgh, Leeds, Leicester, Newcastle, Nottingham, Oxford, Sheffield, Southampton, Plymouth and many other destinations.
Arriving by air
We are located 18 minutes away from East Midlands Airport, 50 minutes from Birmingham Airport and 75 minutes away from Manchester Airport.

Nottingham Hockey Centre is situated just 15 minutes from the M1 and 10 minutes from Nottingham City Centre. It can also be signposted as Highfields Sports Club.
Trains/Trams
To get to Nottingham Hockey Centre via Train and Tram. Get a train into Nottingham station, then walk to Toton Lane and get onto the Tram stay on the Tram for 5 stops, approx. 11 mins, and then get off at the University of Nottingham stop, and walk for around 5 minutes to get to Highfields Sports Club.

Car
From M1 Junction 25
- Come off the motorway and follow signs to Nottingham
- Continue following the A52 following signs for the Queens Medical Centre
- Turn right at a large roundabout by the Toby Inn.
- Straight over at the next roundabout
- Turn left at the next roundabout along University Boulevard.
- Highfield Sports Clubs is situated 200-300 metres along University Boulevard, on the right-hand side.
- The entrance to the ground is opposite the University Gates
From M1 Junction 24
- Take the A453 towards Nottingham from the motorway island.
- Follow the A453, Nottingham Ring Road, through Clifton towards the Queens Medical Centre.
- After crossing the River Trent continue towards the Medical Centre along Clifton Boulevard.
- After an industrial estate, with Showcase Cinema on the left hand side follow the signs to Beeston, turning left at a small island underneath a flyover.
- Continue along University Boulevard for approximately half a mile, passing the Nottingham Tennis Centre on the left hand side.
- The entrance to Highfields Sports Club is shortly after the Tennis Centre on the left hand side.
Parking is available at the site and information about parking will vary for each event, so check before you arrive at the event.
