Meet the team

Our events would simply not happen without our dedicated red army of Hockey Makers. Supporting us in the planning and delivery of our events are our 'Event Assistants'. England Hockey meet monthly with our Event Assistants, who help us plan and shape our events, as well as voicing any concerns or feedback from Hockey Makers so we can provide you all with a better experience. They really go the 'Extra Mile' for us and for you. Learn more about them below.

Hobby outside of Hockey - I am a scuba diving instructor, so generally spend non-hockey season under the water

How long have you been a Hockey Maker for? - First event was 2010, part of the build up to 2012. First big event was London 2012, and haven't looked back since

Area of Expertise - Managing Field of Play and Running Hockey events
Favourite Hockey Maker Moment - Meeting Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, Receiving two Hockey Maker of the Year awards 10 years apart.
Hobby outside of Hockey - I am a level 2 hockey coach, and currently coach Lincoln University Ladies. I am also a member of a Rotary club which supports a wide range of charities both locally and internationally.Although my sporting volunteering role started in 2002 at the Manchester 2002 CWG, my first hockey related volunteering was Eurohockey 2007.
Secret Talent/Unknown skill - I love to bake cakes especially the chocolate varieties. I have been known to wear an Elf outfit at Xmas to raise money for charity.

Favourite Hockey Maker Moment - Too many to choose one - possibly the Euro Final when the trophy was broken by Kate Richardson-Walsh!
Hobby outside of Hockey - I am a horsey bird. I have my own horse called Bridget

Favourite Hockey Maker Moment - Stood next to the GBR dugout as we won the Gold medal shootout in Rio 2016
Hobby outside of Hockey - Walking my dogs - two working cocker spaniels - and lots of involvement with wheelchair rugby
Secret Talent/Unknown skill - Don’t have any… But, there may still be a hidden emergency banana in Alan's Sport Equipment office at Glasgow CWG 2014…
How long have you been a Hockey Maker for? - My first event was the Champions Trophy at Nottingham Hockey Centre in 2010.

Area of Expertise - Love working in Hockey Maker Ops but have done most roles!
Favourite Hockey Maker Moment - The first home game for GB women against Netherlands after Rio. Amazing atmosphere!
Hobby outside of Hockey - Studying for a Degree in Sports Psychology and Coaching with the Open University

Favourite Hockey Maker Moment - First pro league back at Lee Valley after Covid. Was amazing to see everyone after such a long break.
Hobby outside of Hockey - I've recently taken up triathlons for a hobby and am loving it.
Secret Talent/Unknown skill - I can solve a Rubix cube in about 30 seconds

Favourite Hockey Maker Moment - T-shirt Cannons at the Toshiba event as my old boss won a gold medal for GB at the Seoul Olympics, and this event was to celebrate that win.
Hobby outside of Hockey - Build LEGO sets - Love to travel particularly by cruise and vlog about it.
Secret Talent/Unknown skill - I'm not talented enough to have a secret talent or unknown skill.

Favourite Hockey Maker Moment - Champions Trophy 2016 - doing so many different roles in one tournament.
Hobby outside of Hockey - Playing other sports such as cricket and golf
Secret Talent/Unknown skill - Can get a crowd of 1000's up and singing along!

Favourite Hockey Maker Moment - World Cup 2018 and being part of the 1/2 time entertainment.
Hobby outside of Hockey - General Volunteering and Call of Duty.

Hobby outside of Hockey - I regularly conduct school tours around a historical ship, that has a toilet that talks.

Favourite Hockey Maker Moment - Sweet Caroline at the Women's World Cup with all the Hockey Makers getting the crowd going.
Hobby outside of Hockey - Very Amateur Social Media Management and Online Gaming when I have time away from Coaching and Running an Online Toy and Sports Business.
Secret Talent/Unknown skill - I'm pretty good at creating Websites (generally WordPress), well for an amateur anyway!
How long have you been a Hockey Maker for? - Since 2007 in Manchester which was the start of our regular International Event Hosting era… what an amazing 16 years it has been and many more to come.
