The Men’s and Women’s Championships give your team an opportunity to become a national champion, regardless of whether you represent your club’s 1st XI or 2nd or even 8th XI. Four different Tiers help to level the playing field and ensure you come up against teams of a similar ability standard – the Tiers restrict entry based on the league you play in.

In this straight knockout competition, the further you progress the wider the pool of possible opponents becomes. It’s a great opportunity to play different teams from those you play week in and week out in your league. Everyone loves a cup run, and regardless of league form, it’s something different to look forward to!

New for this season - teams who lose in Round 1 will have an opportunity to participate in a parallel Plate competition to give teams more opportunities to progress within the Championships through to a final.

Where possible specific cup weekends for the Men’s and Women’s Championships have been set in the competition calendar to help avoid clashes with league activity. No more playing two games on a weekend or losing players to other Sunday commitments. Prepare for your cup run properly with no distractions and a Saturday fixture.

How do we know what Tier we will be in?

The Division in which a team plays their Adult League hockey will determine which Tier they’ll be eligible to enter in the Championships. Each Division sits within a Grade and each Grade is eligible to enter one of the Tiers as illustrated below. For further details, you can check the Adult League grading list opposite. Clubs are advised to enter their highest-ranked team within any Grade. If your team does not play Adult League hockey please contact EH Competitions to see which competition you can enter.

Tier 1 – Grade 1
Tier 2 – Grade 2
Tier 3 – Grade 3
Tier 4 – Grades 4 & 5

The closing date for Adult entries is extended to 29 September 2024 and entry is now open. Use this link

The cost of entry for teams is £84.00 per team.
