David made his international debut aged just 18 at the 2009 Champions Trophy but had to wait more than three years for his next appearance, coincidentally at the same tournament in the same city (Melbourne).
Since then, he has become a regular for both England and GB, featuring at two World Cups, two Commonwealth Games and the Rio 2016 Olympics among many others major competitions. In the summer of 2022 he helped England win a Commonwealth Games bronze medal in front of a home crowd in Birmingham.
David is a powerful, dynamic and skilful midfielder who creates plenty of chances for his team-mates whilst also chipping in with a number of useful goals, including a hat-trick in the opening game of the 2015 EuroHockey Championships in London.
