England Hockey Guidance for Deployment of Coaches


Coaching Hockey in Primary Schools (supporting teachers with curriculum delivery)England Hockey recommends that the minimum qualification to deliver in this environment is the UK Coaching Certificate (UKCC) Level 2 in Coaching Hockey or the ‘Proud to Coach Children’ Award, an up to date Safeguarding and Protecting Children certificate and First Aid.

Coaching in Secondary Schools (supporting teachers with curriculum delivery)England Hockey recommends that coaches need to have a minimum of UKCC Level 2 and an up to date Safeguarding and Protecting Children certificate and First Aid.

Coaching in Primary and Secondary Schools (extra-curricular) – England Hockey recommends that coaches need to have a minimum of UKCC Level 2 and an up to date Safeguarding and Protecting Children certificate and First Aid. If working with children Under 12 the ‘Proud to Coach Children’ Award is sufficient.

Coaching as part of the Community /LA SchemeEngland Hockey recommends that coaches need to have a minimum of UKCC Level 2 and an up to date Safeguarding and Protecting Children certificate and First Aid. If working with children Under 12 the ‘Proud to Coach Children’ Award is sufficient.

Coaching in a Club (lead coach) - England Hockey recommends that coaches need to have a minimum of UKCC Level 2 and an up to date Safeguarding and Protecting Children certificate and First Aid. If working with children Under 12 the ‘Proud to Coach Children’ Award is sufficient.
